Home Away From Home
Konnichi wa! Hello from Yokohama, Japan! My name is John and after graduating from UW-Madison in Dec.1973, I decided to get a fresh start and begin a new and exciting life in Japan. After studying East Asian studies and, with five semesters of Japanese under my belt, I took the long journey to Japan soon after graduating and this is where I will begin my story.
For years I have wanted to write about my experiences of living in Japan. Hopefully you will enjoy reading what it was and is like for a foreigner (‘gaikokujin’) to live in Japan.
