Cai Research Group at the 2017 SNMMI Annual Meeting in Denver

The Molecular Imaging and Nanotechnology Laboratory received multiple awards at the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) 2017 Annual Meeting in Denver.

The lab is led by Dr. Weibo Cai, associate professor of radiology and medical physics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Cai is a member of the UW Carbone Cancer Center, UW Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Center, UW Cardiovascular Research Center and UW Institute for Clinical and Translational Research.

Four Cai group members (Dawei Jiang, Dalong Ni, Shreya Goel and Emily Ehlerding) were among 16 recipients of a Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Travel Award to attend the meeting, which was held June 10-14. In addition, Ehlerding received a UW-Madison Conference Presentation Funds Student Research Travel Grant to attend the meeting. Two other Cai group Members, Lei Kang and Bo Yu, also attended the meeting.

In total, Cai group members gave 12 oral presentations and four poster presentations.

Ni received third prize for his abstract in the Chinese American Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging’s competition for Young Scientist Award. Haiming Luo, a former postdoc in the group, received the SNMMI Alavi-Mandell Award for his 2016 publication in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine, official journal of SNMMI.
