David Prager

Position title: Executive Vice-President, Corporate Affairs, De Beers Group

David Prager is Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs for De Beers Group and a member of the company’s Executive Committee. Based in London, David has overall responsibility for the global profile and positioning of De Beers and its businesses.

Spanning the luxury and extractive sectors, David has unique insight into the expectations of consumers and the corresponding pressures on production. He works across geographies to incorporate the needs of a diverse set of stakeholders into De Beers’ corporate strategy. From communities to consumers; employees to partners; industry to civil society; and media to governments, David leads highly skilled teams focused on shaping an external and internal environment conducive to De Beers and the needs of all its stakeholders.

David began his career at De Beers in 2006 as Director of Communications, responsible for the company’s communication strategy and delivery. Prior to joining De Beers, David was in charge of UK communications for AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, and worked for Ogilvy PR, providing counsel to clients including GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Virgin Atlantic and Coca-Cola.

David started his career as a White House Intern during the Clinton Administration and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with degrees in Political Science and Journalism.
