Position title: Executive Vice-President, Corporate Affairs, De Beers Group
David Prager is Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer of De Beers and a member of the company’s Executive Committee. Based in London, David has overall responsibility for the purpose, protection and promotion of De Beers and its brands.
Spanning the luxury and extractive sectors, David has unique insight into the expectations of consumers, the corresponding pressures on business and the power of purpose-led brands to propel communities, companies and consumers forward. David leads teams across Brand and Global Marketing, Corporate Affairs and Sustainable Impact. He is accountable for the global marketing and profile of De Beers and its brands, and leading De Beers’ commitment to protect the natural world and improve peoples’ lives through its Building Forever sustainability framework.
David began his career at De Beers in 2006 as Director of Communications, responsible for the company’s communication strategy and delivery. Prior to joining De Beers, David led UK communications for AstraZeneca, and worked for Ogilvy PR, providing counsel to clients including GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Virgin Atlantic and Coca-Cola.
David started his career as a White House Intern during the Clinton Administration and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with degrees in Political Science and Journalism.
David is a Board and Executive Committee member of Diamonds Do Good and serves on the Advisory Board of the International Division of the University of Wisconsin.
