ECE department will host 2019 International Future Energy Challenge

Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Giri Venkataramanan and Kyle Hanson, lab manager for the Wisconsin Electric Machines and Power Electronics Consortium, served as general co-chairs for the IEEE International Future Energy Challenge, which will hold its final round of competition on the UW-Madison campus July 29-31, 2019. The contest is an international student competition for innovation, conservation and effective use of electrical energy organized around a specific challenge. During the 2019 event, teams from around the world will present their concepts for E-drive bicycles as a sustainable solution for easing traffic congestion in major cities while reducing fossil fuel consumption. Also on the steering committee is ECE Associate Professor Bulent Sarlioglu.
