The UW-Madison EUCE has resources available for the study of the European Union, Europe and/or EU- US relations.
The EUCE will grant a small number of travel awards of up to $1,000 to UW faculty and graduate students conducting research on the EU, European integration, and/or transatlantic relations, defined broadly. For example, such research projects could address current policy challenges and opportunities facing the European Union and/or European countries; the historical development of European integration; the evolving role of the EU as a global actor; and/or relations between the United States and Europe during the twentieth- and twenty-first centuries. Projects that do not directly address the EU itself must compare the experience of more than one European country. Priority will be given to faculty and students who have worked with the EU Center of Excellence, and/or to those who have not previously received travel support from this source. Graduate students at both the pre-dissertation and dissertator stage are eligible to apply.
Deadline for submission of EUCE travel grant proposal is December 19, 2008. Monies will be awarded as reimbursements for travel expenses and must be requested by August 31, 2009. The proposal should not be more than two pages in length, and should be accompanied by a CV. Proposals may be submitted electronically or on paper to:
