FRENCH STRIKES FOCUS OF UW-MADISON PANEL DISCUSSION

Madison, WI – The French student strikes will be the subject of a special talk, “Behind the French Strikes: Youth Protests and Employment Reform,” at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St., Madison.

The talk will include presentations by UW-Madison history professor Laird Boswell; Fehti Kerrouche, a Université de Provence graduate student currently doing research in Madison; Hunter Martin, a UW-Madison graduate student studying in Paris; and Jonathan Zeitlin, a UW-Madison professor of sociology and public affairs.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Division of International Studies, the Center for World Affairs and the Global Economy, and the European Studies Alliance, including the European Union Center of Excellence and the Center for Interdisciplinary French Studies. XXX
