UW–Madison’s Yeohyun Ahn and Esther Cho were invited to present their project, “Hangul Alphabet,” at the Virtual Design Education Forum 2021, taking place Nov. 11-12.
“Hangul Alphabet” investigates bilingual experiences between English and Korean as experiential typographic forms. It consists of multidisciplinary typography research using diverse mediums including typeface design, woodworking, generative art, and 3D printing. Each medium delivers the bilingual experiences as visual, interactive, tangible, and playable letterforms by using the typeface, Hangul alphabet.
