The UW School of Medicine and Public Health is leading a federally funded partnership to improve emergency medicine for people with HIV/AIDS in Ethiopia.

Dr. Girma Tefera and the medical school’s Center for Global Health are working with a hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital, to improve its emergency care.

The partnership was announced this week by the American International Health Alliance, which is funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. Ethiopian doctors have been in Madison this week, working with doctors here.
