Peace Corps Representative and First Lady Jessica Doyle to Speak on “How Language Learning and the Peace Corps Influenced my Life”

Language for Life is hosting the event “How Language Learning and the Peace Corps Influenced my Life” which will take place Tuesday, October 20 from 4-5 p.m. in the On Wisconsin Room at the Red Gym, 716 Langdon Street. Language for Life is a program of the Language Institute that gives current students the opportunity to meet with alumni who studied a foreign language and are using that language in their professional or personal lives in inspiring ways.

Hear from UW-Madison alumni First Lady Jessica Doyle and campus Peace Corps representative John Sheffy on learning languages, serving in the Peace Corps, and about how those experiences led to lifelong passions and pursuits.

This event is free and open to the public and will include free pizza! Sponsored by the Language Institute, the African Studies Program, and Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies Program (LACIS), with Language Institute funding from the College of Letters and Science Anonymous Fund.
