Group Writes Message On Web Site: “We are OK! Don’t worry, it was a mere tremor here.”

MADISON, Wis. — Members of a University of Wisconsin-Madison group are safe after a major earthquake caused devastation in Haiti Tuesday.

Members of UW-Madison’s Engineers Without Borders have been in Haiti since Sunday, but they said no one in the group was hurt after the 7.0-magnitude quake struck.

A short post on the group’s Web site reads: “We are OK! Don’t worry, it was a mere tremor here.”

But the group said to keep on eye on Port-au-Prince Airport as its travel plans might be affected.
