The Office of the Senior Vice President for Research and the Office of International Programs are initiating a new program to enhance Penn State’s involvement in WUN. Under this program, the two offices will support one or more workshops aimed at developing large-scale research efforts in collaboration with our WUN partner universities. The two offices will provide seed grants for the operation of these workshops (up to $25,000 per workshop.) The resulting collaborations do not need to be exclusively based on WUN institutions, but they should involve substantial WUN participation. They should also aim for sufficient external funding to enable significant self-sustaining scholarly efforts with broad impact.
