The Division of International Studies welcomed its advisory board at an evening reception on Thursday, October 7, 2010. Speaking at the reception were Anthony Carroll, vice president of Manchester Trade Ltd. and adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, and Ambassador John E. Lange (ret.), senior program officer for developing-country policy and advocacy for the Global Health Program at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The following morning began with welcome remarks from Dean Gilles Bousquet and Advisory Board Chair David Negal, and Division of International Studies’ news and updates from Bousquet. Before lunch, the board was updated on the Emerging Powers Initiative and Global Talent Initiative. Meeting attendees then lunched with students who traveled to Ghana and Malaysia to work in international internships. In the afternoon, the group heard more about the International Internships Program (IIP) through the Division.
