University of Wisconsin–Green Bay – Inside Newsroom — (June 10, 2010) — More than two dozen business, education and nonprofit leaders took part in the daylong economic roundtable on Wednesday, June 9, at the Kress Events Center. The event, which was organized by the UW System International Economic Development Task Force, was hosted by former interim chancellor David J. Ward and Gilles Bousquet, dean of the Division of International Studies and vice provost for globalization at UW-Madison. UW-Green Bay Chancellor Thomas K. Harden and UW-Oshkosh Chancellor Richard Wells were among the higher education executives at the event. The group heard from Richard McCreary, president and CEO of Marinette Marine Corporation, who discussed the potential economic impact of a pending federal contract, as well as new investment in jobs and infrastructure since Italy-based shipbuilder Fincantieri Marine Group Holdings began investing in Wisconsin assets.
