The Central Asian Student Association (CASA) and the Center for Russia, East Europe, and Central Asia (CREECA) invite you to a celebration of Nawruz, the traditional Central Asian New Year, with a free concert by the “Silk Road Ensemble!”
Date and Time: Thursday, April 2 at 7:30 P.M.
Location: Great Hall of the Memorial Union, 800 Langdon St., Madison
About the event: Celebrate Central Asian New Year with a concert exploring the many musical traditions of the Silk Road, with an emphasis on the music of Azerbaijan. Shahyar Daneshgar on vocals and percussion. Novruz Mamedov on vocals, saz and percussion. Rashad Mamedov on keyboard and accordion. Arif Bagirov on tar and guitar. The event is free and open to the public.
