Stephen Kantor
Position title: Head of Originations - Supply Chain Finance, Wells Fargo
Stephen Kantor began his career in commercial banking shortly after graduating from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1998, where he earned his degree in economics along with a certificate in business. Over the past 25+ years, he has built an extensive career advising mid-market and mid-corporate companies on strategies that enhance financial performance, mitigate risk, and support long-term scalability.
Stephen currently serves as Head of Originations for Wells Fargo’s Global Supply Chain Finance group, leading client engagement for a national team that works with international companies ranging from $300 million to $2 billion in revenue. His background spans international banking, credit underwriting, treasury consulting, and relationship management, and he has established a strong track record as a sales leader delivering high-impact financial solutions aligned with the priorities of CEOs and CFOs.
His team provides a comprehensive suite of working-capital tools ,including global trade finance instruments, supplier chain finance solutions, and accounts receivable securitization products. He helps clients unlock liquidity, optimize cash-conversion cycles, and strengthen both international supplier and global customer relationships. Stephen is known for an analytical and execution-focused approach, the ability to distill complex financial information into clear, actionable insights, and a deep commitment to building trusted, long-term partnerships
In addition to his professional work, Stephen is married to a fellow Badger and proud parent to three children, including his daughter, who is currently a Badger and will study abroad through UW in spring 2026. He looks forward to supporting the university community through his service on the board and contributing to the continued success of his alma mater.
