M. Aman Wirakartakusumah
Ambassador/Indonesian Representative to UNESCO, Paris, FRANCE
Aman Wirakartakusumah is Rector of Sampoerna University (Universitas Siswa Bangsa International). He is an emeritus professor of food science and technology at Bogor Agricultural University, where served as Rector (1998-2002). He was Indonesian Ambassador to UNESCO in Paris, France (2004-08), and president of Intangible Cultural Heritage Convention 6th Session in 2011, Bali, Indonesia. He chaired the Board of National Educational Standard of Indonesia (2011-13). He currently chairs the Education Committee of International Union of Food Science and Technology and the Higher Education Committee of the Indonesia Higher Education Council, and serves as a member of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences, and as a Fellow of International Academy of Food Science and Technology. He has served on the UW–Madison International Studies Advisory Board since 2003. He was president of the Indonesia Badger WAA chapter (1998-2000) and received the WAA’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 1999. He holds master’s and Ph.D. degrees in food science, with a minor in chemical engineering, from UW–Madison.
