The Ludvig Holberg Memorial Fund has the pleasure to call for nominations for the Holberg International Memorial Prize for outstanding
scholarly work in the fields of the arts and humanities, social science,
law and theology 2006. The price has a value of NOK 4.5 million, approx.
€ 575,000/US$ 700.000. The prize was established by the Norwegian
Government in 2003, and aims to increase the society’s awareness of the
value of research within these fields.

The nomination deadline is **15 February 2006**. The winner of the
Holberg International Memorial Prize 2006 will be announced in September
2006 and the official award ceremony will take place 29 November 2006.
Entitled to nominate candidates for the Holberg Prize are scholars
holding a senior position at universities and other research
institutions within the above mentioned academic fields.
