Hundreds of high school students and teachers from around Wisconsin were invited to the Orpheum Theatre for UW-Madison’s 8th World Cinema Day on March 31, 2011.

World Cinema Day is held annually in conjunction with the Wisconsin Film Festival and invites high school students and teachers for the screening of a high-quality international film along with an introduction and discussion led by UW faculty and students.
This year’s movie, The Colors of the Mountain by Carlos César Arbeláez, is about childhood in a remote, mountainous region in Colombia. A panel discussion with UW-Madison Professor Hernando Rojas and graduate students Laissa Rodrigues and Beatriz Botero was held after the movie .
