World Languages Day: Monday, April 20, 2009

World Languages Day is an educational outreach program of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Language Institute. At World Languages Day, high school students from throughout the state of Wisconsin gather on the UW-Madison campus to experience for a day what the university can offer them for a lifetime. Through workshops focusing on storytelling, cinema, skits, cuisine, dance, music, clothing and more, students get a taste – sometimes literally – of language and cultural opportunities they might like to explore.

World Languages Day is made possible by the generous support of the College of Letters and Science Anonymous Fund; The Evjue Foundation; and the following UW-Madison Area Studies Programs: African Studies; Center for East Asian Studies; Center for European Studies, Center for Russia, East Europe, and Central Asia; Center for South Asia; Global Studies; and Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies.
