The International Studies Major and Global Cultures Program graduation reception was held Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Many of this year’s graduates, came together to celebrate the end of the year with their parents, faculty, and friends.
Reception highlights included Professor Ruben Medina, Department of Spanish and Portuguese, who congratulated the students and read some of his own poetry about being a global citizen. Gilles Bousquet, dean of the Division of International Studies and vice provost for globalization, spoke on the importance of cultural fluency and the value (and marketability) of a liberal arts education.
