Post-event Media: Language Institute Offers Expertise on Careers in Translation and Interpretation

The Language Institute hosted the Language for Life: Careers in Translation and Interpretation panel discussion on May 7, 2010, that drew 60-70 people, most of whom were students eager to hear from professionals with extensive and diverse experiences working in translation and interpreting.

Panelists included Sarah Berquet-Clignet (French); Alison Carroll (French, German, Portuguese, Spanish); and Tomislav Longinovic (Serbo-Croatian).

Dean of the Division of International Studies and Vice Provost Gilles Bousquet delivered the welcome address.

Language for Life is a program of the Language Institute that gives students the opportunity to meet with working professionals who studied a foreign language and are using it in their professional or personal lives in inspiring ways. It is sponsored by the Division of International Studies and the Language Institute.

The Language Institute is an initiative of the College of Letters and Science, with substantial support from the Division of International Studies.
