UW-Madison’s Apple recognized by Australian university as a 2017 ‘Research Giant’

UW-Madison’s Michael Apple was recently recognized by the University of Southern Queensland in Australia as a “Research Giant” for 2017.

Apple is the John Bascom Professor Emeritus of Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Policy Studies.

Apple is widely known for conducting groundbreaking work as one of the leading founders of the field of critical curriculum studies. He has authored or edited more than 50 books — including two (“Ideology and Curriculum” and “Official Knowledge”) that are recognized as being among the most influential publications on education in the 20th century. These works have been translated into more than 20 languages.
