Alexa Loustalet spent the spring 2011 semester in Rome, Italy working for the U.S. Department of State. As an intern working internationally, Loustalet furthered her love for Italian culture and found a new direction for her life and career. International Studies had the opportunity to interview Loustalet where she describes the steps it takes to get the internship, the daily responsibilities she had at the embassy, and the impact it had on her future.
Applications are currently being accepted for internships through the U.S. Department of State. Learn more about the 2012 Spring Student Internship Program and apply by Friday, July 1, 2011.
