‘Blue collar’ UW student wins scholarship to study in England

A UW-Madison graduate focusing on breaking down voting barriers has been selected as one of 43 students in the U.S. to receive the Marshall Scholarship to study in the United Kingdom.

Conrad and Dunek’s ‘Cultivating Inquiry-Driven Learners’ translated and published in Chinese

An innovative and groundbreaking 2012 book co-authored by UW-Madison’s Clifton Conrad and Laura Dunek was recently translated into Chinese and published by Shanghai Scientific and Technological Education Publishing House.

Increased vegetation boosts rainfall in the Sahel, researchers find

Droughts can grip the vast Sahel region of Africa for decades, dramatically altering the border where forest and savannahs give way to the Sahara Desert. Predicting those droughts is vital, but hard.
